About us
Who We Are
We are a collective of queer, gender-expansive, and neurodiverse therapists based in New York City (occupied Lenapehoking), which, with great humility, we honor as the unceded homeland of the Munsee Lenape People, past, present, and future.
As queer healers existing at the intersections of varied historically oppressed identities, we are wholly committed to collective liberation and believe sitting in solidarity is the most powerful therapeutic intervention we have to offer our clients in the community.
Many members of our collective have lived experience with sex work, non-monogamy, and kink; therefore, we create spaciousness for the experiences of those whom society often relegates to the shadows, outskirts, and margins.
We strive to bring our fullness into the therapeutic space, and would love to partner with you in uncovering and living boldly towards yours!
What We Do
Our clinicians draw on our lived experience, our educations, and the wisdom of our communities to aid fellow LGBTQIA2S+ folks in finding and cultivating authenticity in wellness.
We offer individual, relationship, family, and group therapy services for NY residents, and non-clinical mental health coaching for folks based anywhere across the U.S.
Our supervisors offer case consultations in individual or group format for fellow mental health practitioners, whether provisionally or independently licensed.
Q’Lective Therapy is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed mental health counselors (LMHCs), licensed creative arts therapists (LCATs), licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs) and licensed master and clinical social workers (LMSWs and LCSWs).

Why We Do It
It is incredibly important to us to turn a critical lens to the ways in which the mental health industrial complex has harmed the communities we belong to on both the individual and system levels.
We strive to make therapy accessible to all who seek it. As such, each clinician utilizes an equitable and accessible sliding scale fee structure. Our team uses a non-hierarchical structure for supervision and practice management and centers client agency above all.
While each individual clinician utilizes a variety of therapy modalities, our practice is collectively grounded in feminist and queer theories, antiracism, and disability justice, wherein the deconstruction of power structures and dominant narratives is key to personal and collective growth.
We are committed to decolonizing our therapy practice through the relational field and welcome your feedback every step of the way!
Our Story
Our story is really quite simple, it began with an email from a master’s student in mental health counseling seeking a supervisor who could be tuned to and affirm their intersectional identities during the completion of internship hours.
Over the years, The Q’Lective grew into a sustainable group practice where clinicians at any part of their journey could be seen, heard, held, build community, and serve their communities directly.
Our team is composed of students, pre-licensed and fully licensed clinicians. We approach our collective work through a non-hierarchical lens with the ultimate goals of embodiment, transformation, and liberation. Together we aim to offer these experiences to all of our clients.
